Jan Constas worked for years in the corporate arena, but always dreamed of owning a gift shop. After several corporate buyouts and company layoffs, she decided to do something that she really enjoyed. Luckily, a local store came up for sale and she was able to purchase it. Seven years later, she has created a thriving business that her customers love.

The Gift Box carries a tantalizing collection of primitive, colonial and American gifts and home accents. It took a few years to figure out what her customers were seeking, but she realized that you must buy what your customer base desires; it’s not always about what she likes.

The shop has a warm, cozy atmosphere with an antique country flair and radiates a familiar, welcoming feeling that envelops you the minute you walk through the front door. It reminds us of the simplicity of yesteryear.
